The pope presides over the ceremony, during which they go through all the stations of the cross, with prayers and songs. It was pretty cool, but since it was all in Italian and we were kinda tired of standing, we didn't end up staying for the whole thing. It was definitely pretty cool to see though!
The pope stood under the red tent way up on the hill there...my favorite part was definitely the giant cross all lit up though!
